1. Who Slew Auntie Roo?

Curtis Harrington’s 1971 psycho-biddy Who Slew Auntie Roo? is one of the first films to combine holiday and horror. The movie follows mentally unstable Rosie Forrest, also known as Auntie Roo, as she orchestrates her yearly Christmas party for the ten most well-behaved orphans in town. However, the audience soon learns that Rosie is acting under the guise of good nature: her deceased daughter Katherine is deteriorating in the attic and Auntie Roo is hellbent on being mommy to a new child, preferably one without any parents.
